Eric Reed
Eric began his role as Executive Director for the SAY Detroit Play Center in October 2021, and has more than 35 years of direct service and administrative experience in child welfare, prevention, and juvenile justice in both non-profit and government sectors. Eric has served on numerous advisory boards and committees centered on youth-focused initiatives, including the Wayne County Child Advocacy Center; Every School Day Counts Detroit; the Wayne County Fatherhood Committee, and the State of Michigan Race Equity Committee. In January 2024, he was selected as a board member for the Michigan Center for Youth Justice.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Journalism from Central Michigan University in 1988, his Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Wayne State University in 1999, and is in the final year of coursework towards obtaining his Doctorate Degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Dayton.
