The S.A.Y. Play Robotics program launched in 2016 with the assistance of Frog Force 503, a volunteer extension of the Novi, Michigan-based high school FIRST Robotics team founded in 2001.
Frog Force has provided S.A.Y. Play critical technical expertise and experience in the FIRST robotics program. With their help, three FLL (FIRST LEGO League) teams and two FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) teams were established and registered with FIRST in Michigan. They also assisted in the design of a dedicated robotics build space and the purchase of needed tools and equipment. They have mentored and trained our students and coaches through participation in three qualifiers last fall. You can read more about those events and our collaboration at Frog Force 503’s project site here.
Up next: establishing a Jr-level program, and a high-school level FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team at S.A.Y. Play for the current students who age out of the current FLL and FTC teams.
