Austin Crutchfield, a dedicated Program Coordinator at SAY Detroit Play Center, seamlessly blends Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) education with engaging play to enrich Detroit’s youth. Holding a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Physics and soon completing a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at Wayne State University. His arrival at SAY Detroit, fueled by serendipitous events and a lifelong engagement in sports, showcases his belief in the essential balance between academic rigor and recreational play. At SAY Play, he uses his academic prowess and enthusiasm for sports to promote a well-rounded approach to learning. Austin’s dynamic teaching methods and commitment to the S.T.E.A.M. curriculum not only aim for academic excellence but also encourage students to pursue a variety of interests, ensuring they thrive in an environment that values both intellectual and personal development.
